Cement board or plaster board, flatness within 2 mm over 2 m, mechanically fixed at 400 mm centres.
Low-VOC polymer adhesive, full coverage, trowelled to at least 6 mm.
A shadow gap every 6 linear metres, formed in the backer, not cut in the facing.
Ambient 10–32 °C, no direct wind or sun on the bond line during cure (24 h).
No lippage at arrises; arris protection installed before any further trades.
